The Perfect Home Care Joins Alzheimer’s Fund Raising Drive
Elder Care in Tarrytown NY
The contents of women’s handbags typically include the likes of cash, keys and cosmetics. But the 13 bags on display one recent evening at Brightview Senior Living LLC of Tarrytown were brimming with something entirely different. “I guess you could call it generosity,” said Phil Waga, a co-owner of The Perfect Home Care.
The fashionable handbags, from popular designers such as Michael Kors, were the prizes in the first annual “Handbags for the Holidays Bingo Fundraiser” sponsored by Brightview Senior Living.
The event, which raised money for the Hudson Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, was held in the Brightview Tarrytown activity room. There were about 50 participants, all of whom made donations to join in the spirited bingo competition.
“The event was a huge success,” said Kaitlin Russo, Community Sales Director at Brightview Tarrytown. “The attendees were enthusiastically engaged in the bingo game. They had a lot of fun. Best of all, we raised money for a worthy cause. It was a great way to kick off the holiday season.”
Each of handbags was donated by different companies, organizations and agencies with which Brightview Tarrytown has a relationship, including The Perfect Home Care. Ed Trapasso and Phil Waga, co-owners of The Perfect Home Care, also attended the event and participated in the bingo game.
The event featured a dozen bingo games. A handbag was awarded to the winner of each game. The night was capped off with a drawing for the grand prize – a Michael Kors handbag worth some $628. Overall, the handbags ranged in value from $200 to $650.
“The event was great fun,” said Trapasso. “But, more importantly, it raised funds for a most worthy cause, The Alzheimer’s Association. We were happy to have had the opportunity to chip in.”
