The Perfect Home Care Participates in National Aging Conference
Senior Care in Brooklyn NY
The 32nd Annual Aging Life Care Association Conference was held April 15-17 in Brooklyn, NY, and The Perfect Home Care was there.
The Perfect Home Care was one of 41 exhibitors at the conference, which billed itself as an event “where leading thinkers from all over the country have come together to network and share in high caliber programming while experiencing all that the Big Apple has to offer.”
The conference was held at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. The exhibitors, all of which displayed their wares in one of the hotel’s vast salons, enjoyed visits from the hundreds of conference attendees.
“Folks from all over the country stopped by our booth to chat and learn more about our business,” said Ed Trapasso, president and co-owner of The Perfect Home Care. “Of course, many of them were aging life care managers. We learned that, no matter where they’re from, folks from our industry share the common goal of providing the very best care for the elderly.”
The conference agenda included general sessions and breakout meetings. The keynote speaker was Stephen G. Post, PhD. He’s the director of the Center for Medical Humanities, Compassionate Care, and Bioethics, at Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY.
The title of Dr. Post’s presentation was “Hope in Caring for the Deeply Forgetful.” Among other things, the presentation offered a comprehensive picture of the Alzheimer’s patient, the caregiver, and the caregiving relationship, and then presented a series of well-founded practical recommendations to work with the complexities of the disease.
“We really enjoyed the conference,” said Phil Waga, president and co-owner of The Perfect Home Care. “It was indeed a great opportunity to network with colleagues from around the country. We look forward to applying what we learned to the day-to-day operations of The Perfect Home Care. ‘’
